Comprehensive renovation of a luxury penthouse in Barcelona
Àtic Balmes is a comprehensive renovation project for a 350 m² duplex apartment located in Sarrià-Sant Gervasi, Barcelona, in a building constructed in 1950.
The project stems from the challenge of preserving the home’s classic essence while adapting it to a contemporary lifestyle, completely transforming the layout to create more spacious, open, and interconnected areas.
The structural intervention made it possible to remove numerous interior partitions and create a large, continuous 150 m² area connecting the living room, terrace, kitchen, dining room, entrance hall, and staircase.
The new central location of the staircase also organizes the upper floor, which is laid out as three suites with terraces.
